Harlan J Werner, the founder of The Memorabilia Network, and the long time sports agent of iconic boxer Muhammad Ali is to auction his Muhammad Ali memorabilia collection in the summer of 2022.
The collection has been built over Werner’s 25 year personal friendship with Ali.
Werner first met Ali at the age of 18 and launched a business relationship on a single handshake whereby Werner managed Ali's image and marketing rights for 20 years.
Friends and colleagues of Muhammad Ali are also contributing lots to make this one the of the largest Muhammad Ali sales in recent years.
Werner told us “What makes this special, is that for the first time - being a fan and collector, in addition to being a confidant of Muhammad Ali – I will be able to share stories, talk about how things were acquired, and create a living provenance that collectors, investors and fans, will be able to have in their collections in perpetuity,” said Werner.
“It is, in my view, the most accurate and complete way to allow fans the inside story behind how the items were acquired…by getting the story straight from the source,”.
The auction will include over 300 items including, possibly the star item, a set of four poster prints of Muhammad Ali, signed by both Ali and the artist Andy Warhol.
Other highlights include Muhammad Alis personal letters and handwritten correspondence, over 30 pieces of original artwork drawn by Ali and several personally owned items that will be for sale for the first time.
