The Rock Island Auction Company will auction Han Solo's BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster in their Premier Auction on 26th-28th August 2022.
The prop gun was used by actor Harrison Ford in the 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode 4) film.
The gun is the only surviving blaster from the three originals used in filming.
The blaster had previously been considered missing, hence new replacement blasters were made for the subsequent The Empire Strikes Back and return of the Jedi films.
The replacement blaster carried by Harrison Ford in the Return of the Jedi film actually sold at auction for $550,000 in 2018 so the Rock Island estimate fo $300,000-$500,000 for this original version could be considered a bargain.
Star Wars memorabilia has been selling for huge sums at auction with the X-Wing model selling for $2,375,000 in June 2022.
That was also the only original model known to exist as the others had been destroyed in filming.
In 2017 Ripleys Believe it or Not! purchased Luke Skywalker's Light Sabre for (a now bargain) $500,000.
Whilst Profiles in History sold an R2-D2 droid that had been used in multiple Star Wars films for $2,760,000, also in 2017.
There's some great Star Wars memorabila out there.
Which one would you add to your collection?
