Beatles aficionados will be heading to Omega Auctions on 11th October for a 258 lot ‘The Beatles Collection’ auction, including three uber rare Beatles posters from the early 1960’s.
First up is Lot 240 an original poster for a concert at the Gaumont Cinema in Sheffield in 1965, estimated at £10,000 - £15,000.
The Beatles played two concerts at the Gaumont. Supported by The Moody Blues, they played 11 songs on what would prove to be their final UK tour before travelling to America.
The poster measures 25 cm x 38 cm and is being sold by the family of the original printers ‘Electric (Modern) Printing Co,' of Manchester.
Lot 241 is an original poster from a performance at the Northwich Memorial Hall from April 27th 1963 with an estimate of £14,000 - £18,000.
The poster advertises the performance of The Beatles plus The Cruisers and Denny Curtis and the Renegades – the fourth time The Beatles played Northwich.
This poster measures 20 inches x 30 inches and despite some light wear is considered to be in good condition with the text intact.
The poster also has excellent provenance, having previously been sold at the Christies Pop Memorabilia Sale in London in May 2004.
The star item is Lot 242, a poster advertising The Beatles and The Trixons at the Pavilion Ballroom in Buxton on April 6th 1963.
The photos from this concert are well documented showing Beatles fans fainting and being carried out of the venue as The Beatles performed.
This is believed to be the only known example of the poster remaining hence the estimate of £18,000 - £25,000.
The poster measures 20 inches by 30 inches and the provenance states that it comes from the collection of Denis Brooke-Auty who was the entertainment manager at the Pavilion Ballroom.
The Beatles performed to a few hundred people in Buxton and just 2 years later were performing to over 50,000 fans at the Shea stadium in New York City.
A bright yellow poster from the Shea Stadium concert is the most valuable Beatles poster ever sold, having sold for $275,000 at Heritage Auctions in April 2022.

The Gaumont poster sold for £9,500. Doesn’t look like the other two sold: https://bid.omegaauctions.co.uk/auction/search/?au=86&sd=2&pn=5&g=1
I am looking for the Beatles poster from Northwich with Denny Curtis and the Renegades. How much did the poster go for and is there anymore?
